From our family to yours, at Dunkirk Family Practice we strive to proactively treat our patients with the goal of improving the quality of life through a compassionate ear, a smiling face and exceptional healthcare.
Our Story
Dr. Cathy Brophy and Dr. Joyce Owens started Dunkirk Family Practice, PA in 1997 to serve the Calvert County and Southern Maryland communities. They met in medical school and bonded over a shared commitment to family medicine and a desire to practice medicine on their own terms, not those dictated by a hospital or an insurance company. CRNP Danielle Hudson shared that same sentiment when she joined Dunkirk Family Practice in 2016.
The entire Dunkirk Family Medicine ‘family’ calls Southern Maryland home, and their commitment to their community is as strong today as it was when they started practicing here. They all share a single philosophy of patient care: treat the entire family; give the patient the time they need, not just what the insurance company says is sufficient; help patients get and stay healthy, don’t just treat their medical conditions; and remember that we are all family.
